TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS
AIR CANADA TMOS
NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

After a lengthy and frustrating round of bargaining that commenced in March of 2019 and exhausted
the mediation and interest arbitration stages of Appendix XXXXIV of the Collective Agreement, your
IAMAW TMOS Bargaining Committees have received Arbitrator Vince Ready’s award.

In his decision dated April 12, 2021, Arbitrator Ready raised the pension cap from $82,000 to
$94,000. While this is good news and your Bargaining Committees are pleased with this result, the
issue regarding retroactivity remains open as Arbitrator Ready deferred back to the parties. Legal
counsel has engaged the Company on this matter and Air Canada has indicated they are aware of
the sense of urgency to have this concluded.

In the Airports/Cargo category, Air Canada sought to gain complete control of our coveted shift
provisions in Article 10 and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) NO. 12. Your Bargaining Committee
vigorously opposed these predations at every step of the process and under the principle of
replication, Arbitrator Ready concluded that the employer could not and did not achieve their proposal
at bargaining, therefore Arbitrator Ready declined to award Air Canada enhanced control of the shift
processes.

All items that were agreed to during direct negotiations will form a part of the new Collective
Agreement. Your Bargaining Committees are working on a summary document that will be provided
to the Membership, as soon as possible.

Your Bargaining Committee thanks the Membership for your incredible patience throughout this
arduous process.

In solidarity,
