The Shop Committee frequently sees members who have accepted acting positions come in to The Shop Committee to complain about what they are being paid, their days off etc. When you accept an acting position, that is, any position not covered by the collective agreement, you are making a deal directly with the company as to what you will be paid etc.
If you are not happy with the terms of the job, then you have to deal directly with the company.
The Union does not and will not become involved in any way on your behalf for any issue involving acting.
If you are not happy in your acting position there is a simple solution, don’t act.
