SCOPE WORK GRIEVANCE & OT PAID BULLETIN

Dear Union Brothers and Sisters,

The company has violated our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) by engaging in work outside of their scope as well as by passing OT rules. This blatant disrespect will not be tolerated by the Union.

The grievance was delayed because the Shop Committee Office was working diligently to come to an amicable agreement with the management team to have the penalties paid out. Unfortunately, the management team was not adhering to a fair timeline for resolving this issue, so we have moved forward with the grievance process.

The Shop Committee Office filed the grievance on March 1st, 2025, based on this incident and has requested the following:

  • A written apology to the Union/Union Members.
  • 2 hours of Overtime pay for all employees who worked on Sunday, February 16th, 2025.
  • To implement a proper process to handle inclement weather.
  • Collaborate with the Union when mandating overtime.
  • Educate and train all members of the management team on the proper process and procedures in handling inclement weather.

Although we were able to get most of the OT paid out, there is still outstanding compensation for Paid lunch and scope work as outlined above.

Advocating for our members is our top priority. We will first try to resolve any issue in a fair and reasonable manner that benefits our members. If we are unable to come to an agreement that benefits our members, we will always proceed to the grievance step.

Thank you for your patience during this time, and we will keep you informed regarding this grievance.
