TO ALL IAM MEMBERS AIR CANADA END TO SHIFT TRADE BOUNCE BACKS – UPDATE

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We want to provide an update regarding Shift Trade bounce backs that were drastically affecting our members.
This issue was strongly contested by your Union in the last round of Bargaining, and we successfully secured a
favorable ruling from the Arbitrator in the Interest Arbitration Award dated December 29, 2023. The Arbitrator
explicitly directed Air Canada to stop the practice of returning shifts to the original owners.
Despite this clear decision, the Company continued disregarding the Arbitrator’s ruling and persisted in
reinstating shift trades to their original owners. In response, the Committee of General Chairpersons worked
diligently at the headquarters level, continuing to advocate for our members to ensure compliance with the
ruling.

We are pleased to inform you that as of December 1, 2024, Air Canada has confirmed they have implemented
measures to put an end to Shift Trade bounce backs. Moving forward, this issue should no longer occur.
Should any member experience a shift being returned to them or a colleague, we urge you to immediately
report the matter to your local Resource department and notify your Shop Committee Representatives,
including copying them into any communication on this matter.

Furthermore, we want to reassure every member that no one should fear any repercussions due to a shift
bounce back. Your Union stands firmly behind you, and we will fully support any member who encounters
issues.

Thank you for your ongoing support and solidarity.

In solidarity,
