District Bulletin #69 -Transition Update

TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE IAMAW
AIR CANADA / AVEOS – TMOS

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Your Transition Committee met this week on August 29 and 30 in Toronto with both Air Canada and Aveos.

The intent of these meetings was to arbitrate outstanding issues with chief arbitrator Teplitsky.

Here are some of the issues that were on the docket for arbitration:

1. Movement of employees. Base to base and company to company on the same base.
All movements of employees have been suspended until there is a resolution that respects everyone’s seniority.

2. MLC – Line Expeditor.

3. Trenton issues, including the grandfathered paid move.

4. LOU 9 bypass violations. The company must put the bypassed individuals on the next endorsement course.

5. OJT trainers.

6. Buyer Analysts.

7. “D” license training.

8. Disciplinary files transferred to Aveos from Air Canada.

9. Aveos uniforms and allotments for seconded employees.

10. Employment offers for people who selected Option 1, sub-option 5 and VB3.

An order is forthcoming from the arbitrator on these items. Several are still outstanding, which will be dealt with on the next scheduled date, September 7, 2011.

Trenton issues will be scheduled on another date, yet to be given by the arbitrator.

We thank you for your continued patience and support.

In solidarity,

Your Transition Committee
